OnPAR – Online Partnership to Accelerate Research
OnPAR launched last March with the National Institute of Health to match high-scoring “unfunded applications” with non-government organizations. OnPAR with Dimensions covers all NIH and all grants mechanisms from fellowships, R01 (Basic Research) to SBRI/STTRs (Small Business Phase I/II).
The original idea was to collect highly scored unfunded applications and find non-gov organization open to review and potentially fund these projects. OnPAR is now the only platform providing a window into research projects that are not in the public domain – then, allowing organizations to find partners/assets but also de-risk their internal/external R&D and/or funding decisions.
They are in the process of expanding to other US agencies, i.e., NSF, DoD, CMS, NASA, DOE, and others, and internationally, Canada (CIHR), UK (MRC), Australia (NHMR), EU Commission, Japan (AMED), Singapore A-STAR and others.
